5 out of 5 stars We love our Kindle   October 7, 2008

As my husband and I hit and passed the 50 year old mark, our enjoyment of reading dropped because we had to wear glasses to see "clearly". Wearing glasses to read was exhausting after a while and we just started reading less. With the Kindle, the font can be adjusted for each of us and now we can read w/o the glasses. Reading heaven has returned.

I am thrilled with every aspect of the Kindle. I use it for both Audio and Electronic books and have nothing but praise for it. I particularly love the ability to adjust font size on the fly and to to look up definitions of words immediately upon seeing them. Great job Amazon! My only concern is that I may go broke buying and reading books because it is so easy and fun to do so with my Kindle.

I love the kindle. I was off yesterday and read all day. Very easy to use. It took me 6 months to get up the nerve to spend $359.00. IT WAS WELL WORTH IT. I was a little apprehensive that it would be like reading on a computer screen. It is not. Easy on the eyes and the font feature is excellent. Downloads to the devise are immediate. When I first starting using it I did hit the next page button a few times by mistake, but I quickly adjusted. The book cover is great and the device fits neatly inside. I used it outside and read it in bed. The screen savers are nice also! MY REVIEW: Great product. If you are an avid reader you will love the Kindle!

5 out of 5 stars Won't Live without it!   October 7, 2008

I don't like to spend money on myself...my kids always come first. So this was a splurge for me last May. I can only say, it's the best $350 I've ever spent on anything. The kindle has become my constant companion, I read more and MUCH faster...and I was no slouch before. The idea of reading a traditional book has now no longer appealing. The kindle is easy on the eyes, it allows me to read whatever I want, where ever I want, it doesn't blow shut in the wind, and I can read it at soccer practice with my gloves on and not have to get my hands cold turning pages, or cramped holding open a book. Pillars of the Earth? A HUGE paperback, difficult to haul around. On my kindle however, it was a joy to read (for my third time) and no eye strain.

I used to go on vacation with at least half a dozen books in my luggage...taking up space and weighing a ton. This year, i went on vacation with 25 books and my daily newspaper...and only took up one small pocket in my backpack and only added 10 ounces to my luggage! Not to mention that I didn't have to deal with a stack of newspaper after I was done...and had no worries about sections blowing away at the beach.

I could go on and on and on. I can't say enough good things about this gadget. It is the best thing to happen to reading since the printing press!

If anyone is even THINKING about getting a Kindle, I say DO it! You have 30 days to return it if you don't like...but I bet you don't. Thank you Amazon - I simply won't live without it!
