Product Description
Light rays, which are reflected by any surface become polarized and polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. PL (Linear Polarizing) and PL-CIR (Circular Polarizing) filters have the same effect, but it is important that you choose the correct version for your camera. They allow you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass etc. They also enable colors to become more saturated and appear clearer, with better contrast. This effect is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. HOYA's polarizing filters do not affect the overall color balance of a shot.

1st time I used it the glass filter fell out it's holder which screws onto the lens-thus bad quality had to ship it back to get March 10, 2008

this time the quality f the Polarizer wasn't too good- it was defective- while trying to screw the filter onto my camera lens the glass Polarizer fell onto the ground.... quality control was not so good @ the Hoya factory!
Had to mail it back to get it replaced, the replacement has NOT come in yet!

I noticed an amazing difference for nature photos be before and after using the polarizer.
Note that there is a two stop drop in light collected, so this is not suitable for night photos.
Amazon service was outstanding as usual, item delivered on time and as promised.
