2 out of 5 stars Frustrating   December 11, 2008
Charles Rossi (San Jose, CA)
Not a good experience. The problems I ran into included:

Uncomfortable headphones.

Volume doesn't go up high enough. Could barely hear songs at max volume that sounded fine on an iPod.

Really tinny sound. I'm not expecting much for sound quality, but it's crappy enough to be distracting.

No shuffle and will _not_ start again from last song after being turned off no matter how many times you actually follow the directions. It just doesn't work. Might be related to next item:

Battery life quickly goes to heck. Won't hold a charge after a few months.

Poor controls overall. No clear indication that what you think you did with the controls actually happened.

Randomly turns itself on - and drains battery. Many times, I have the headphones disconnected only to walk by and see the LED on and music playing. Turned it off manually. Checked later and it's on again.

Have to make sure you really jam the headphones and USB jack into the unit. This is obviously OK in order to help keep things waterproof, but make sure you do this, otherwise it won't play or charge.

Finally, after 8 months, it just stopped working. Won't charge and isn't recognized when plugged into a USB port on multiple machines. Just died.

1 out of 5 stars poor design, poor workmanship   October 17, 2008

Poor design (no display, have to go through songs in sequential order they are loaded onto the device), battery didn't keep its power, it died after 3 months. Huge waste of money.

5 out of 5 stars Still going strong after two years   August 8, 2008
C.M. (West Coast, USA)
I have owned this MP3 player for a little over two years now. From May to October I use it four or five times a week for swimming laps in a chlorinated pool for 1 to 2 hours. I rinse all the parts under running tap water after each swim and haven't had any problems with the unit so far.

The only little quirk it developed all of a sudden last year is that there now is a delay of approximately 5 to 10 seconds between the time the ON button is pressed and the time the unit comes on. It always does come on without fail, though.

1 out of 5 stars Problems with the volume and stereo   June 17, 2008

I bought this to use while swimming laps. The volume and the stereo keep dropping out. Half way through my swim, I can barely hear out of one ear bud. I was constantly trying to re-adjust to hear the music. It was very annoying. I rarely use it now. If I become a regular at the pool again, I would probably look for a better product to keep me company.

1 out of 5 stars No quality   May 16, 2008

There is no quality on this mp3. When it arrived, just looking on it's structure and headphone you can have a bad impression. After 4 or 5 times used, it stopped to work. No sound at all in or out of the watter. Waste of money, but maybe the problem is that I used it out of the water!!!!
