This product does work as described. That said, I will more than likely never use it again. I got it for a Christmas gift, and have tested it. After getting nothing but a faint reception and a lot of static, I checked the reviews here to see what they said. The first one told me not to worry, just make changes to how it is connected. After that, I got much better reception, and less static. But, sound quality is still leaving very much to the imagination, and volume is somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 of regular radio at the same position.

It works and sounds great! I think it is all around perfect except for the fact that my Creative Zen MP3 player's USB slot doesn't fit with the USB that the Transmitter has. What that means is the car charger doesn't work for me. I can still play it in my car, but I can only charge it in my house like I used to.

Also, if you plug it in and it sounds like crap, don't worry. The order that you plug your MP3 player into the FM Transmitter is important. Just unplug it, turn the cord around, and plug it in again. It'll sound amazing.

First, the good news: This transmitter does indeed perform several useful functions, and does three of them quite well. It is adjustable and holds a wide range of MP3 players. It can recharge those players. AND (I know, never begin a sentence with "and") it will recharge/power a number of other portable electronic devices.
Now, the bad news: The transmitter lets through a noticeable amount of static hiss, which is not good. In addition it gives forth a heterodyne "whistle" whenever the gas pedal is depressed and which is, let's face it, most of the time. Neither one of those manifestations overwhelms the music, but they are distracting and irritating.
Finally, the power plug-in is just a tad on the loose side, the result being that the device has a tendency to work itself loose every so often, usually while the car is in motion, another irritating distraction.
In the end, I got tired of fiddling with and adjusting the transmitter to no avail, and am in the process of replacing it. This is a promising accessory that just doesn't quite live up to that promise.
