If you aren't looking to be able to charge your mp3 player and just want some decent portability, this model would be fine.

I was actually seeking a design that was not ipod specific being that I have an old 20g iriver. I got the display model for $10 off the sale price of $40 making it $29.99 at *****. If I had payed $50 I might be disappointed. I have a pair of Bose II computer speakers that I had been taking to work with me as I run a relaxation group. The nuances of the music is no longer apparent, and some of the crystal bowl ambiant stuff sounds tinny, but what can you expect. The bose are bass heavy, and these are treble heavy.

The design is nice, but the IPod does not connect at the base - there is a cable that connects at the top. Other than that everything works like expected and doesn't look cheap. The only backdraw is the sound quality.. it is not what you want for everyday listening and it also won't be loud enough for a bigger party or something of the sort. It is OK for the price though.

i have a bose sound dock downstairs and wanted a set of portable speakers for the upstairs. these were perfect. plugged into wall, easy to move and for what they are used for (extra speakers in a bedroom) the sound quality is more than adequate. excellent product for the money.
