Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Koss The Plug is a stereo earbud for the discriminating listener. It delivers accurate acoustical reproduction and unbelievable isolation typically found in more expensive, closed-style stereophones. The Plug features a dynamic element that is positioned just outside the ear and connected to a tubular port structure that is inserted on a soft expandable cushion into the ear canal. The soft foam cushion expands for a custom fit to improve isolation and enhance deep bass and treble clarity. The Plug has special ear cushions made of hydrophilic, formed urethane, for a custom fit each and every time it is inserted into the listener's ear. The custom fit enhances isolation when you want to plug out ambient sounds that interfere with the listening experience. The Plug delivers the full sound of Koss. Combined with your favorite music and a portable sound system, it is the ultimate accessory on the go. A mute switch on the cord provides connection to the outside world without having to un-plug.

Amazon.com Product Description
Koss's miniature portable earphone, affectionately dubbed "The Plug," makes use of an ear-cushion material (similar to that used in sound-blocking earplugs) that slowly expands in your ear canal to provide a custom fit and maximum sonic isolation from external noises. A detachable, extrawide headband makes these Koss-termed "stereophones" easy to carry or store.

For accurate sound reproduction, these earbud-style headphones are made with oxygen-free copper voice coils and neodymium iron boron magnets. You can enjoy them with either a portable or home audio device, since both 0.125-inch and 0.25-inch adapter jacks are included.

"The Plug" weighs a mere quarter ounce and has a frequency response rated at an impressive 16 to 23,000 Hz (though its unlikely you'll hear bass output anywhere close to what you'd get from a similarly rated loudspeaker!).

Impedance is 16 ohms, with less than a 0.3 percent distortion and reasonably high sensitivity of 112 dB SPL/1 mW.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome!   January 8, 2009
Tracey Lawrence (Ringwood, NJ USA)
Better than I could have hoped. They are comfortable, sound great and are an incredible deal from one of the best names in sound. Makes my iPod Touch the music machine I always wanted.

1 out of 5 stars Very tinny with no bass!   January 7, 2009
K. Paris (Los Angeles, Californa)
I used to be a fan of the Koss PLUG. I had two pair which I wore everywhere. They delivered great bass with a full range of sound. Isolation was good. But a cord of one got caught in my door and destroyed one earbud. So I decided I would purchase another pair. Well the new pair does not have the same bass response at all. It also does not have the hocked earjack but a staight connector. This new one is not convenient since it is easily kinked. But the sound change was dramatic. This was a real disappointment. I really loved their old design.

5 out of 5 stars Good Noise Blocker   December 27, 2008
Y. Bijan
The ear buds make nice ear plugs. I wear them at work to block out noise. Sound quality is good but not the best. They came with 3 different sized buds. I think they are a good value for the price.

5 out of 5 stars Great Earbuds   December 26, 2008
DoubleD (Florida, USA)
These earbuds stay in place and offer great audio reproduction. It seems a little tinny on the higher tones, but has good bass and overall great audio response. I highly recommend this product. I've tried a number of products trying to find one that will fit in the ear and stay there. This one does the trick.

1 out of 5 stars Not worth it.   December 25, 2008
K. Greeley (Alfred, NY)
I wanted to give earphones a chance because I look totally old school with my behind-the-neck headphones. These worked fine for about a week, then the volume adjuster on the wire gave up and distorted the sound. They isolate you from everything going on around you, which can be dangerous. They're hard to put in and not very comfortable. What a piece of crap, given how much it costs. Don't buy these.
