5 out of 5 stars Yes!!!   January 8, 2009
Joe (Belize)
I had the first edition of Bose noise cancelling headphones for about 5-6 years, and loved them. Eventually the covering started to wear out (maybe my beard helped shorten the lifespan a bit), and while the sound was still great the material would flake. I bought the new QuietComfort2, and love them even more.

These are lighter (and so even more comfortable) and take up less space when packed in the carrying case. The sound is still phenomenal.

The first review here (by R. Kelkar "web junkie") says it all about pros and cons (though I haven't experienced one problem mentioned): the comfort, noise cancellation and sound quality are all great. The negatives are the price and not being so great when trying to sleep with them on. (I've not had the problem w/ sweating, though.)

I'm frankly amazed at the number of negative reviews: I consider these to be very high quality, and clearly worth the price. When these wear out / break, I hope the next edition is ready.

3 out of 5 stars Seasick anyone? Best sound yet though...   January 7, 2009

These are GREAT headphones.. Its really neat to have them on and have all the noises outside drop away.. However, I find that they make me motion sick when I wear them. Apparently it's to do with the frequencies used to cancel the noise.. Only happens to some people though so my recommendation is get them! and they come with a BOSE 90 return policy so if they bother you at all you can return them.

1 out of 5 stars They just don't work well....   January 6, 2009
Paul P. Moraes (Benicia, CA USA)
My wife gave these as a Christmas present. I am sure she felt that since they cost so much they must be good. I have now used them extensively on my home and portable stereo equipment (running both high-end analog and digital media) and within seconds of using them I was suspect of the audio quality. After several days of listening (and fiddling with my equipments controls in an effort to improve the sound) I have given up. The bass sounds are completely muddled. The highs get lost in this tinny sound. The sound reproduction is not only inaccurate, it's actually irritating. To be certain, I started comparing them to ear-bud style headphones I had received in the past when buying various MP3 players. To be succinct, evey single earbud I had either sounded as good or superior. I had my son-in-law also compare along with his two kids. And they also agreed that the ear-buds were FAR superior in sound quality. And these were freebies. As far as the noise-cancelling feature, that appears to have value. But essentially, these are $300 ear plugs.

5 out of 5 stars Like listening to music in a symphony hall   January 5, 2009
PT Cruiser (CA USA)
I bought these headphones for my husband about 2 years ago, but I often borrow them. They are so comfortable, like wearing pillows on your ears and they do a great job of canceling out background noise and work great when flying. I love listening to classical music with these headphones because the sound is so crisp and clean that it's like being right in the symphony hall and hearing the music live and in person.

I guess the only drawback would be their size. They aren't like small earbuds, and you wouldn't wear them when working out, but then they are a lot more comfortable than small earbuds. And I've not used any earbuds with sound comparable to these.

These headphones are everything I'd hoped they'd be and I'd buy them again in a minute.

5 out of 5 stars Great Headphones   December 29, 2008

I love these headphones! They are very light and very comfortable on the ears when wearing them. Noise cancellation really works. I use them with my iPod and it sounds great! I highly recommend them. It's worth every penny!
