Soundfly SD lets you listen to sound files such as MP3 & WMA file stored in portable memory devices like USB flash memory & SD card, etc through your car radio speakers. It supports RDS (Radio Data System), so while listening to music, you can see the song and artist's name displayed on your car stereo. Soundfly SD transmits to all FM frequencies (87.6MHz - 107.9MHz) and memorizes up to 7 FM frequencies. It comes with fully functional remote control. You can also transmit music from other Mp3 players such as iPod, Zune etc. Just plug USB or SD card in Sound-Fly & Enjoy music!

5 out of 5 stars Exceeded my expectations   January 3, 2009
R. Allen (Kentucky)
After reading ALL the reviews I decided to give this a try and I must say I was not disappointed. It works just as described and was not hard to figure out. Amazing quick shipment.
You MUST read the instructions, especially on what to name your target folder (it can have no other name than MP3 or Soundfly). Once you have created it, you are now able to make new folders in the main folder and name them anything you like.
I would highly recommend this product.

4 out of 5 stars Simple to use   December 24, 2008
Teck Kim Khoo (Des Moines, IA)
Got this to use in my car that had a single-CD player and no MP3 connectivity. It was pretty easy to use; I used a 2 GB SD card on this.
Pros: You can actually create several folders to organize your music, and the Soundfly plays only music from the folder you're listening to. Also, despite the advertisement, the set DOES transmit RDS music information from the SD which is a bonus. Comes with a remote but I've never had to use this.
Cons: I knew this going into the purchase so I'm not complaining- the sound is only so-so. It's nowhere as crisp as a CD, and perhaps comparable or slightly poorer that regular radio signals, but it's not bad. I'm only being picky here- my Boxster has the Bose surround system, so the difference between CD and this is audible, but it's not horrible.
Also wish there was a 'Random' setting in this. Everytime I switch back into a certain folder, it begins playing from the top of my list. Also, wish there was an on-off switch; not a big deal for most, but my car's 12V socket doesn't EVER turn off even with the key out so it would have been handy to have an off switch on this.

Overall, it's a great product that does as it's advertised. Just have reasonable expectations about the sound quality. Probably audible to most if you tend to drive with the music turned up the way I do.

1 out of 5 stars A Dud....   December 19, 2008

I bought this item as a birthday present for someone else. About three weeks later I asked them if it was working okay. Unfortunately they were getting bad static when using the unit. I asked to take a look at it to see if it worked better in my vehicle but had the same problem. I tried multiple frequencies and multiple music sources with the same result.

In any case, my 30 days to return the item was up. The company did offer to replace it but I didn't have any confidence a new one would work. I bought a different gift and this one went in the trash.

4 out of 5 stars Does what its supposed to   December 19, 2008
Jason Solano (San Antonio, TX)
I previously owned a Coby CA-745, but it then died on me less that a year in. I knew the Coby had durability issues, but the sound was good and clear, so I was hesitant to go with a different brand. The Soundfly transmitter does just as good a job and seems to be alot more sturdy, plus you get the added features of playing directly from an SD card or USB flash drive. The remote is also a nice feature. For the slight price difference I think you get a better product with great media options. Long term wise, I have yet to see, but my intial impression is its the best out there for what it does in it's price range.
