5 out of 5 stars HIP HOP FOR GROWN UPS   January 5, 2009
jane s (nyc)
This is the best hip hop CD I have heard in years (since most of what passes for hip hop these days is garbage). This CD reminds me most of "The Love Movement" - a mature Q-TIP, jazzy spirit and very insightful lyrics... I have to wonder though- where is the publicity for this CD? I heard about it from a British website.

If you are a TCQ fan you will not be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars HipHop Pioneer Releases Masterpiece!   January 5, 2009
William m Coles (BALTIMORE, MARYLAND United States)
All you want to be hip hop super stars should take note, Q-Tip rhymes like a rapper. His lyrical content is so potent, words w/dual connotations is the recipe for this installment. He is truly over the top on this one and it is a shame that he won't get the accalades he should just because the hip-hop community is stuck on stupid and refuses to recognize the true purpose of this musical genre. But Tip makes it clear that he won't be denied his opportunity to speak the truth and he does it quite well over banging beats and old school tracks that have been in our community for decades.

5 out of 5 stars Clean your musical ears with this Q-tip   January 5, 2009
G. Gilbert (Houston, TX)
I've been a long time fan of Q-tip (A Tribe Called Quest)for many years. I have been jammin this man's work since I was in high school with their first album (People's Institive Travels...)and the hit single "Bonita Applebum". Now as a grown man with two children of my own we (my family) still jam Midnight Mauraders and the Low End Theory while cleaning the house on a Saturday morning. I have now added The Renaissance to that rotation. My daughters will be able to tell their children that they grew up listing to Q-tip (ATCQ) while house cleaing just like I listened to Stevie, Al Green and Earth, Wind and Fire when I was a child. Only the classics baby, only the classics!!!

5 out of 5 stars Blown Away! Exceeds my Expectations   December 28, 2008
R. Singh (Seattle, Wa USA)
This album is far better than expected. I have always been a fan of the the tribe since I first heard them, and I'm glad to say that q-tip does not disappoint! I personally enjoy both new school hip-hop and old school hip-hop, and this album is comfortably sitting in between both. If you are a fan of raw lyrics that stress purpose and beats that will make your head nod, then this is the album for you!

1 out of 5 stars Rap is talented and 2pac was a lyrical genius!   December 27, 2008

Nobody can deny the awesome talent of rap music! Baggy clothes, bandanaz, and lowriders!! Stop listening to that stupid rock, metal, and classical music.. and listen to real talented music.

How to make a 2pac song

1.Name it something hateful
2.Insert 5 second Casio Keyboard loop (play for 6 minutes straight)
3.Add extra bass to the recording

4. Last but not least. GENIUS Lyrics!

I ain't a killer but don't push me
Revenge is like the sweetest joy next to getting p*ssy
Picture paragraphs unloaded, wise words being quoted
Peeped the weakness in the rap game and sewed it

Long live Rap, 2pac, and making 15 cds after you fake your death!
